I believe that the panic came after the actual events of the London Riots. At the time it was just hooliganism but then after it was posted all over social media and published in the news it then became a moral panic. This was because it was perceived by the media to be way worse that what it actually was.
Volatility: This is when the fear and panic evolves almost immediately. In this case it did. This cause more people to get involved all over London. The more people that got involved the more it got serious.
Disproportionality: This is when there is a greater perception of harm then usual. This happened just after it got serious when people and police stated getting hurt.
Hostility: This is the disapproval towards the actions of others who are responsible for inflicting these behaviours. In some videos and interviews people of the public stated what the rioters were doing an why they were wrong. After the riots people were called out and arrested by the police.
Consensus: This is when there is a majority of people that all agree on the same thing. After the riots most people believed that what was done was wrong and shouldn't happen again. People also believed that there wasn't a clear view of why people were rioting.
Concern: This is when there is an imagined or potential threat. This could be applied to people thinking that similar riots could happen again.
